My wedding weight loss diary – My slim down slip upHello guys and girls! It’s been nearly a whole month since I last updated you with the progress of my wedding weight loss plan. They say getting married is one of the most stressful times in your life, and until now I could never really understand how planning a party could really be such hard work. How naive I was! The last month has simply flown by in the midst of a chaotic wedding whirl. I’ve barely been able to spend any quality time with my new fiancé without asking him his opinion on flowers, dresses and venues, let alone spend much time on my exercise routine so I can lose weight for my wedding. Since my induction with my (ridiculously in shape) personal trainer a few weeks ago, I’ve only managed to squeeze in a few exercise sessions due to the demands of wedding planning. And when I have been able to work out, I’ve been trawling wedding mags for ideas whilst pounding the treadmill. Anyways, when at the gym, I weighed myself in the locker room and was disappointed when the needle didn’t move as much as I’d hoped. This made me re-evaluate my determination to lose weight, and I made the resolution to do some exercise every day no matter what. Daily gym workouts were most certainly out of the question, so Dan suggested cycling to work to lose weight, as well as to save some cash.
I must admit, I was dubious at first but after dusting the cobwebs off my trusty Raleigh I soon got into the swing of it. Riding 6 miles every day certainly does feel like it’s making a difference but I still think I could be making more of an effort to lose weight for my wedding day.
However, my plan to have a sensible night out went out the window as soon as my friend Rachael - the party animal - went to the bar and ordered a round of Chambulls. This is a cocktail that consists of a potent mixture of champagne vodka and red bull. Once I’d had one I couldn’t say no to more… It would be rude to not join in right?........ After a fun filled evening of drinking, dancing and debauchery, we called it a night and headed to our usual kebab shop. Now usually, I would have shamefully ordered a medium doner accompanied by all the trimmings. This time however, the guilt of my boozy binge had set in I opted for a grilled chicken shish and lots of salad minus the mayo. Damage control I believe they call it. The hubby-to-be came to collect me and raised an eyebrow at my late night feast. I’m definitely going to improve my willpower that’s for sure if I’m ever going to lose weight and achieve my ideal bridal body (minus the magic knickers!) I’ll keep you posted with my progress Kelly x |
