My wedding weight loss diary- The hens Go-Ape!Well hello there my wedding weight loss followers, and welcome back to my online diary! The last few weeks have literally flown by in an excitable/nervous blur. The hen do First there was the hen do 3 weeks ago, which, by the way, was an absolute blast. Rachael pulled through for me and organised a hen-do themed Go-Ape event, followed by a bar crawl! Now for those of you who don’t have a clue what Go-Ape is, (and until a few weeks ago I would have been in the same boat too!) Go Ape is an adventure assault course type thing, which involves wriggling into a harness and swinging through a tree-top obstacle course! We had to climb wooden ladders, cross rope bridges and glide across zip wires. Everyone was giggling and shrieking with nerves/enjoyment all day, so a good time was had by all. Go-Ape grub! I needn’t have worried about the food, as we were indulged by the staff with a lunchtime barbeque in one of the country park clearings. There were lots of healthy choices on offer, such as grilled chicken breast, and salmon and prawn skewers, which were all delicious. These were accompanied by salads, tomato based pasta dishes, rice dishes and grilled corn-on-the-cob. On Rachael’s request, they also cooked roasted Mediterranean vegetables, and even barbequed plums, pineapples and apples for dessert! Party time!
The wedding dress Last weekend, after spending months collating my scrapbook of wedding dress ideas, and much controlled window shopping, it was time to buy THE DRESS. I’d held off buying THE DRESS as I was hoping to drop a dress size and didn’t want to have to keep getting it adjusted. So my mum, sister and I set out in search of the perfect wedding dress. I’d just like to say that this was quite a big event for me, as I hadn’t measured my body since I started losing weight. I nearly jumped for joy when the dress fitter measured my waist and said it had shrunk to 30 inches! I’d also lost inches in all my other areas too, and made the poor lady write my measurements down. I mentally compared my new measurements with the ones I had taken when I first attended the slimming class a while back, and was over the moon with my progress. I’ve still got another month to go though, so I’m going to really focus on my weight loss. I’m intending to get my dress properly fitted a week before THE BIG DAY for a perfect fit. Anyway, after trying on what seemed like a million dresses, I was starting to lose hope. Everyone, myself included, was getting fed up and bored until the last dress in my size was bought out. I felt like I’d fallen in love all over again. Trying it on, I instantly knew it was The One. Rachel snapped away on her camera whilst Mum shed the traditional proud-mother-of-the-bride- tear. On the way home I felt like I was floating on air, and now can’t wait for next month to come. TTFN, love Kelly x If you've got time why not check out my earlier entries? The scales have finally moved!
