See how celebrities shape up and lose their baby weightFor many new mothers, the idea of losing their baby weight after giving birth can be an extremely daunting prospect. We can all understand how finding the motivation to shed the pounds can be difficult after such a physically and mentally draining time. With celebrities seemingly giving birth daily at the moment, what better time to have a look at how these red-carpet mums are tackling the issue? Academy Award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow has recently spoken out about her difficulty in shedding the pounds during her pregnancy. The 37 year old has 2 children with Coldplay front man Chris Martin, 6 year old daughter Apple and 4 year old son Moses. She described the process of losing her baby weight, in particular the second time round as “by far the hardest thing that I have ever done”, but stressed that “every woman can make time” to work the weight away. Mrs Paltrow suggests working out at any time possible, even with your little ones in the same room. “I’ve worked out with my kids crawling all over the place”, she revealed.
It is important to remember that exercising too early after pregnancy could be harmful and physically overwhelming for a woman’s body. Experts encourage mothers to let their bodies recover for around 6 weeks before hitting the gym. This is because your joints and ligaments naturally loosen in preparation for the birth of your child, and will still be loose for around 3-5 months after your delivery. Many leisure centers offer low-impact exercise classes that are specifically tailored for new mums, so why not give one of these a try? Above all, bringing a child into the world should be an extremely joyful period for all parents. Denise Van Outen told The Biz recently that she believes that it is important for mothers to make sure that they enjoy this time as babies are only newborns once, before even thinking about star jumps and celery shakes. WeightWorld has a little tip for pregnant women, or women who are hoping to have a family in the future. A recent study has shown that mothers who eat more during pregnancy are more than twice as likely to become obese later in life. With help from a local doctor or midwife, a healthy diet can be put in place for mothers that can act as the first step in combating post-childbirth weight gain. |
